Reading a Technical Spec Sheet: What Actually Matters

Dimensions and weight are only the beginning. Here is how experienced buyers read a spec sheet to catch issues before they become returns.

A complete technical spec sheet covers more than dimensions and weight. Charging specifications, waterproof rating, and noise level (where applicable) all affect how a product performs against buyer expectations once it reaches the shelf.

Pay particular attention to charging type and cycle life. USB-C charging with a documented cycle count gives you a defensible warranty position, while vague claims like "long-lasting battery" are a signal to ask follow-up questions.

Waterproof ratings should reference a recognized standard (such as IPX7) rather than marketing language like "submersible." Ask your supplier to confirm the testing standard used and whether it was verified by a third party.
