A Buyer’s Regional Compliance Checklist for 2026

CE, UKCA, RoHS, and Prop 65 requirements each cover different ground. A working checklist for confirming your shipments will clear customs.

Buyers importing across multiple regions often assume that one certification covers all destinations. In practice, CE marking (EU), UKCA marking (UK), RoHS (hazardous substances), and California Prop 65 (US state-level disclosure) each address different regulatory concerns and are not interchangeable.

Before placing a production order, confirm which certifications are required for every destination market in your distribution agreement, not just your primary market. Requirements can differ meaningfully between EU member states and non-EU European markets.

Keep a standing folder of current declarations of conformity for each SKU you carry, and request updated versions whenever a supplier changes materials or manufacturing location, even if the product name stays the same.
